We are setting up a satellite location in Indianola that is specifically designed to work with the Kiya Koda Humane Society.
Hi, I’m Breana. Currently I work as a recovery room nurse at an ambulatory surgery center in Clive, IA. I love my job, but by true passion are animals. I’m so happy to be a part of AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport, Inc. It is a much needed service to our homeless pet population and I believe we can truly make a difference! My animal children consist of our golden retriever, Koufax, our Jack Russell mix, Kadie, and our cat, Maggie. I also foster and find permanent homes for cats from Kiya Koda Humane Society.
Breana's New Role:
Breana is the new Indianola area manager. She will be working closely with Kiya Koda to help determine which dogs would do better in a foster environment.
Breana is going to need a lot of help in the Indianola area:
1) Fosters in this area are desperately needed
2) Supplies (see our Wish List)
3) Transporters
4) Help with home visits & vet reference checks
Do You Want To Work With Shelter Dogs?
We are putting together a group of 3-4 people that will meet at the Kiya Koda Humane Society every Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 to socialize and work with the dogs there. You do not need any prior training. We will train you! Just bring yourself and your love of dogs!
If you would like to help out in Indianola, please complete the online volunteer sign-up form or email Breana at breanabjork@hotmail.com
All animals are UTD on vaccinations, have been tested for feline leukemia (cats) or heartworms (dogs), and spayed/neutered. Please contact me with questions regarding Kiya Koda's adoption polices and fees. The shelter is located across the street from McDonalds in Indianola. Their hours of operation are Mon-Sat 8-12 & 1-4.
These two kitties are a mom (Mia) & son (George) duo. Mia gave birth to her litter, at the shelter, May 2008. They are very bonded so it would be nice if they could get placed in a home together. Both are very sweet and good with my 2 dogs and cat. Please consider giving them a chance! I have them as fosters.
These 3 guys are brothers born last year (2009). Alvin, Simon & Theo are very sweet, playful, and full of energy. They would love a big back yard or farm to run on:) Theo was adopted but Alvin & Simon are currently at the shelter.
This is Drake and he's a coon hound. He needs a foster home ASAP!! He's at the shelter and way to scared to be there. He's very sweet. Just needs some love and attention on a regular basis. They're guessing he was abused.
