Meet Baxter!

Baxter originally came to us as a stray puppy, was adopted, but then later returned in his adult years as he did not quite understand his size or strength around younger children. He is still very much a big, goofy pup at heart, but would do best in a home with older children who can help him feel safe and give him space when he gets wound up.

This sweet boy is incredibly affectionate once he is comfortable. He loves being around his people, giving kisses, and being close to them. He can be a bit fearful of men at first, so a patient and understanding home that will help him build confidence at his own pace, would be great for him!

While Baxter is an adult, being back at the shelter has been a little hard for him when it comes to building back a routine to potty outside, so he does have a few accidents in his kennel. To help him succeed, he would love a home with a more consistent routine and positive reinforcement once being in a new environment.

We are unaware of how he does with other dogs or cats, so proper introductions are important to make sure everyone gets along well together.
