Canine Campus Crew

Adoption Center Crew - Volunteers care for the dogs living onsite. This includes things such as; feeding, cleaning, dispensing meds, laundry, etc. Additionally, they take them out to the dog runs so they can get exercise. Volunteers should be comfortable around dogs of all sizes and understand that some may jump or pull hard on a leash. Because of that minors are unable to volunteer in this area. These dogs thrive the best when they see consistent and familiar volunteers working with them. It is best if volunteers can volunteer at least 2 times per month.  This is a labor intensive activity.  Additional training is needed for this position.

Pit Stop Crew

Pit Stop Crew - Volunteers care for our special needs dogs living onsite. This includes things such as; feeding, cleaning, dispensing meds, laundry, etc. Additionally, they take them out to the dog runs so they can get exercise. Puppy Patrol

Family Activity

Puppy Patrol is done by volunteers that have completed Puppy Patrol Training. Puppy Patrol feeds, cleans, gives medication, and plays with the puppies that are generally under 2 months of age. We need volunteers for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Bedtime shifts 7 days a week. The momma dogs get taken outside to their private run to do their business and run and play. Each shift has a checklist of what needs to be done. Minor children can help with the supervision of a parent.

Verification Team

Verification Team - This team is the first touch at reviewing applications for a potential adopter! They will verify that information on the application is true and accurate. A volunteer should be comfortable with a computer and utilization of multiple sources of information. 

Home Visit Team

In order to adopt a dog from AHeinz57, potential adopters must have a home visit completed. Home visits entail a virtual visit of a potential adopter’s home for a tour through the home and checking the yard and fence to make sure it’s a safe environment for that particular dog. Training is available and we have a checklist for you to go through with the potential adopter that will guide you through the home visit. Our home visit team ensures that our dogs are going to the best homes possible.

Event Team

This team puts on Events of all kinds of shapes and sizes! We take every opportunity we can to get out in the community to tell our story, show off our furry faces available for adoption and talk to people about how PAWSOME it is to volunteer with us!

Foster Team

AHeinz57 is primarily a Foster based program to help our rescue dogs become acclimated with living in a home. We need fosters for all sorts of time frames (temporary/short or standard to long periods) for dogs to live until they find their furever home! We also need foster for dogs that are pregnant and those that have recently given birth.

Transport Team

Transport Team - This is where it all began! We have transports for dogs coming to us from other locations! We will reach out to you for additional information that is required for driving purposes. Additionally, we do have a need for individuals to help prep and clean the van(s) and crate(s).

Fundraising

We run everything we do off of the amazing donations from our supporters! We have everything from general/annual fundraising.

Grant Writing

Each year hundreds of dollars are distributed to non-profit organizations like ours. Grant applications can be completed online and can be done from your home computer.

The following volunteer opportunities require at least two Pit Stop shadow shifts with a seasoned volunteer to familiarize you with our policies and procedures.
