Duke

Duke is a handsome 3-year-old Lab Retriever mix with a big heart and an even bigger hope for a fresh start. He came to us through no fault of his own after his mom found herself without stable housing and made the incredibly difficult, loving decision to give Duke the opportunity to find a wonderful family that could provide the life he deserves.

Life at the rescue has been a little overwhelming for Duke, so he can be a bit nervous when meeting new people and adjusting to new surroundings. Once he has a moment to settle in, though, his sweet personality shines through. He enjoys attention, accepts pets nicely, and loves to play. Duke has also shown signs that he may do well with other dogs, although a proper introduction will be needed to ensure a good match.

Because we want Duke's next home to be his forever home, a meet and greet will be required with all members of the household, both human and furry. Duke walks nicely on a leash and enjoys getting out and about, though he may pull a little when excitement gets the best of him.

This deserving boy has already experienced a major life change, but he hasn't lost his loving spirit. Duke is searching for a second chance with a family who will give him patience, love, and reassurance as he settles into his new life.
