Meet Ebony! (And her other half, Apollo!)

Every lady loves a gentleman by her side, and Ebony has hers! Meet this adorable bonded duo who come as a package deal, complete with sweet personalities, a little sass, and a side of slobber!

Ebony is a beautiful Shar-Pei mix with a gentle soul and a slightly shy personality. She's the confident but quieter half of this dynamic duo, but once you've earned a spot in her inner circle, congratulations...you've got yourself a bestie for life!

This sweet girl loves being talked to, and she's always happy to catch up on the latest gossip with staff and volunteers. She's also a big fan of booty scratches! Just one little request from the lady herself: her ears are a hands-off zone. She prefers her affection delivered elsewhere, thank you very much!

And then there's Apollo...

Her outgoing, opinionated gentleman friend who has never been accused of keeping his thoughts to himself! Apollo has plenty to say and firmly believes he should be the center of everyone's universe. Ebony provides the quiet sweetness, Apollo provides the commentary, and together they're quite the entertaining couple!

Both enjoy participating in playgroups, although they're more of the "let's stroll around, sniff a few things, and discuss the neighborhood gossip" crowd than the rough-and-rowdy type. Think afternoon tea party rather than spring break in South Padre party!

These two also have lovely leash manners! They've even enjoyed an outing to Tractor Supply, where they strolled the aisles like professional personal shoppers, carefully inspecting all the merchandise with their noses.

And while they may occasionally leave behind a little slobber (occupational hazard of being ridiculously adorable), they're quite the lady and gentleman when it comes to keeping their kennel clean!

Now for the part that tugs at our hearts a little...

Ebony and Apollo came to AHeinz57 as owner surrenders through no fault of their own. They know what it's like to have a home, familiar routines, and people to call their own. They're just waiting for someone to give them that life again...together.

Shar-Peis are known for their loyalty and intelligence, and these two would do best in a home with older children who can respect their boundaries and appreciate their personalities.

The rescue can be a little overwhelming with all the barking and excitement, so we'd love for potential adopters to meet Ebony and Apollo in a quieter playroom where their personalities can truly shine.

As with all our adoptables, a meet and greet with all resident family members is required to help ensure a forever match.
