George

George is a senior gentleman who found himself in rescue through no fault of his own. Since arriving, he's had a few growths removed, and now he's ready for what every senior dog deserves: a peaceful place to call home.

Shelter life has been pretty stressful for George, and he's made it clear that retirement living is more his style. During a short stay in a foster home, we learned that he'd likely prefer to be the only dog in the household. George enjoys a quiet routine, keeps his kennel clean, and walks nicely on a leash. He's not asking for much, just a calm home where he can relax and enjoy his golden years.

When we first received George he was quite barky when he was left by himself. One thing that has helped George a lot at the rescue is his very special roommate named Manny Quinn (the mannequin). Manny has become a comforting presence for George when he's feeling anxious about being alone. While George occasionally likes to nibble on his friend, having Manny nearby seems to help him settle in and feel more at ease. However, if you do not have a Manny, but are retired or work from home full time, George may just as well love that too.

George has already overcome a lot. Now he's looking for a soft bed, a steady routine, and a person to love him through his retirement years. If you have room in your heart and home for a sweet senior who's ready to leave shelter stress behind, George would love to meet you. Stop by the rescue to meet him or fill out an application online.
